Georgian Wine Trails: Kakheti & Tbilisi
Eight days and seven nights among Kakheti’s vineyards, monasteries and lake landscapes, with winery visits, qvevri traditions and Georgian cooking. Finish with the streets and flavours of Tbilisi.
Explore Georgian wine through landscapes, local hospitality and a varied regional itinerary. Travel from Tbilisi to Sighnaghi and Telavi, visit family wineries and larger cellars, then discover Khareba’s wine tunnel and Tsinandali Estate. Cultural stops at David Gareji, Gremi, Alaverdi and Ikalto balance the tastings, while a cooking class and time by Lopota Lake give the journey a gentler rhythm. Seven nights in 4-star hotels with breakfast are included. Designed for four or more guests; other party sizes are quoted individually. The programme includes six winery tastings at Pheasant’s Tears, Chubini, Teliani Valley, Shumi, Twins and Khareba, plus the Twins cooking masterclasses. Lake access and outdoor visits depend on local operating conditions.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Tbilisi. Airport reception, transfer and hotel check-in. The remainder of the day is free.
Day 2 — David Gareji, Bodbe and Sighnaghi. Travel through the semi-desert landscapes to the monastery area, continue to Bodbe and Sighnaghi, then taste three wines at Pheasant’s Tears. Overnight in Sighnaghi.
Day 3 — Gremi and Kakheti wineries. View Gremi from outside, without the museum or tower ticket. Visit Chubini for a winery tour and tasting, then Teliani Valley for a tour and four-wine tasting. Continue to Telavi for the night.
Day 4 — Alaverdi, Ikalto and Shumi. Visit the cathedral and academy, then enjoy a four-wine tasting at Shumi. A separate production tour is not included. Overnight in Telavi.
Day 5 — Lopota views and Twins Wine House. Stop for accessible lake views, subject to local access, without paid resort admission. In Napareuli, visit Twins’ qvevri museum and cellar, taste three wines and join khinkali, tone bread and churchkhela masterclasses. The dishes you prepare are included. Overnight in Telavi.
Day 6 — Kvareli and Tsinandali. Make an accessible lake-view stop at Kvareli, subject to local access, without paid resort admission. Visit Khareba for a tunnel tour and four-wine tasting, then Tsinandali Estate’s museum and gardens, without an additional tasting. Return to Tbilisi.
Day 7 — Tbilisi. Explore Sameba Cathedral, the cable car towards Narikala, Abanotubani and the Old Town. A farewell dinner with folklore can be arranged at extra cost. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 8 — Departure. Breakfast, check-out and transfer to Tbilisi airport.
